Your monthly recurring membership is a year-round plan and ensures that we can cover 502 Dragon’s expenses, even when we’re not out on the water together!
What does my membership help support?

Insurance: 502 Dragon Boat Community is fully insured (general liability, D&O, and hull insurance).

Equipment: 502 Dragon Boat Community provides practice paddles, life jackets, water, and a BOAT. As a new organization, that's a major undertaking! We are also looking to acquire a second boat so there can be MORE practices and also informal races.

Equipment Storage: While generous donors have helped offset some of the costs of mooring the boat and storing the boat trailer, there are still expenses involved!

Making Sure There's Room on the Boat for Everyone! 502 Dragon Boat Community is committed to providing membership for ANYONE. Those who can donate at the full paddling membership level (or more) help those who can't. It's a win win -- the more paddlers, the better the experience for us all!

Intentionally Nurturing Diversity: We believe intentional diversity is a key part of dragon boating. Along with diversity comes equity--not only do we want folks on the boat to represent all walks of life, ages, gender identities, race and ethnicities, but we also want our LEADERSHIP to be just as diverse. Your donation helps support us creating opportunities for EVERYONE to learn and train and grow as paddlers, coaches, and steers.

Growing Opportunity and Service: We have expanded opportunities to participate in teams including a competitive traveling racing team. Additionally, we host paddling clinics and camps with accomplished coaches. We also believe in giving back as a group to our shared community--look for chances to volunteer to keep our river clean, raise money for other organizations, and more!

At present, 502 Dragon Boat Community has NO paid staff. This may change in the future, but until that time, please keep in mind that we are an entirely VOLUNTEER organization. The steers, coaches, and volunteers organizing events and practices do what they do for LOVE of their community and the awesomeness that is dragon boating.
